"Grab the Flag"- Race for Classic Motorcycles in Rijeka/Croatia 2016

The "Grab the Flag"- Races at the Automotodrom Grobnik were held between 19 and 21 September. The first practice runs in the morning were still on a wet track but then the weather turned almost perfect for racing.

In the B.O.T.T. - Class, Horst Scheuer and Bernhard Zojer, both on LAVERDA 1200, were dicing for the internal LAVERDA-classification. Their times in practice were very close. Both did lap-times of around 1:50. In the first race Bernhard finished 5th and Horst 6th. In the second race the situation was reversed. Horst gained a fantastic 3rd and Bernhard closely followed on 4th completing his fastes lap in stunning 1:48.528.

Armin Schulz on LAVERDA 750 SF saved the honour of LAVERDA in the Sportsmen 750 Class.

In the 2-hour endurance race Horst found a congenial partner in Bernhard's mate Gattl - who unfortunately still doesn't ride a LAVERDA. "Teamchef" Gert: "I have never seen such a relaxed endurance team. Even after the third turn Horst and Gattl still seemed to be comparatively fresh. Bernhard was standing at the pit wall, holding a stop-watch and giving signals. Anna and Andrea were giving mental support from their sun-beds and supplied the riders with mineral water. I was in charge of re-fuelling and changing transponders and batteries on the bikes. There was no need for any spanner. Our efforts were rewarded with an excellent 5th place."

We congratulate Bernhard, Horst and Gattl on this successful end of the season!
