Italian Swap-meets are always worth going to - physically rummaging through boxes and walking the aisles on the hunt for LAVERDAs und LAVERDA-spare parts is much more exciting and a lot more fun than doing it virtually.
Unfortunately Milan welcomed us with fog and drizzling rain. Nevertheless we already did some recce on Friday through the halls and around the extensive outdoor setup. In the evening we caught up for a leisurely dinner with our Italian friend Cesare and his family as well as our Dutch mates Marnix, Hans and Rob. For dessert we visited a nearby ice-cream parlour.
Saturday and Sunday were really busy: The queue at the main entrance stretched for more than 100 metres. Traditionally the majority of items in Novegro are for the trial and off-road faction, whereas LAVERDA bikes and spares are usually a rare find. A dealer from Verona had a 750 SFC Replica and a beautiful 750 SF1, one of the private sellers was offering a 1200 that had seen better days, others had a 500 Formula (which I would LOVE to own), some two-stroke models and a 75 without motor, A French dealer however offered a vast array of LAVERDA 750/1000/1200 parts. I had to shop twice at his stall. It was interesting to notice that his dealer has a total of 15 of the anniversary 1200s!
The next Mostra Scambio in Novegro will be held from 15 to 17 February 2019.
