Erich Varga
LAVERDA 750 SF

Erich was infected with the LAVERDA fever by his father Andi and is now proud owner of an early 750 SF.

1981 he bought his first LAVERDA, a 500, for Austria a rather rare model. With a lot of love and patience he stripped her of the tramway-red brush-paintjob, the 1000 tank, the cut seat and the home-made exhaust system. Plenty of new original parts, bought directly in Breganze and replacement of all wearing parts, guaranteed for thousands of kilometres without any troubles in the following years. After 10 years he sold her and tried to find his luck with other Italian, German and Japanese bikes. But the LAVERDA virus was stronger…!

"In 2003, after several visits to Wolfgang Huber in St. Marien I found my dream bike, a LAVERDA 750 SF, model year 1971, with drum brakes and almost in original condition. Finally again a LAVERDA at home!!! I immediately put on new tyres, changed all the cables, invested in fresh oil and checked all the settings. The result: Fires up and runs! Soon after that I met Maria and Gert at the Guzzi meeting in Kirchberg. Gert invited me to come to the LAVERDA meeting of Willi Werndl in Bavaria – my first big tour with my new LAVERDA. The meeting was great and except for a lost side cover the whole tour went without problems!"

In the winter of 2005 Erich has rebuilt the engine and replaced the whole electrics. On a tour to Breganze he has already been able to prove that his 750 is in top shape again!
