LAVERDA 1200 Harris
LAVERDA 1200 Projekt

Peter Corbic is one of those who got bitten by the LAVERDA bug already at a very tender age.

"On my way to work, while I was an apprentice, I was fascinated by a white Sulzbacher-LAVERDA 1200 that was sitting outside on the road all the time, irrespective of the weather and the season. When I turned 20 it finally happened: I was able to purchase exactly that bike. In the meantime the owner had given the bike a paintjob of flames on a black background. I changed that to fire-engine-red and only left the wheels white.

Years later I bought a 1200 TS and put the engine into a Harris frame. This was an enormous improvement compared to the original chassis.

Through my good contacts to Peter Haider/Walter Prünner and Hans Guggenbichler/Martin Wurm, in 1991 I finally managed to score one of the rare Haider-Prünner racebikes with a 1200 engine in a deltabox frame. But that bike never really did it for me.

In 2011, after many years of not owning a LAVERDA, I was able to buy back my Harris-LAVERDA which I rebuilt into a racebike. As she seemed to be a bit lonely in the garage, in 2015 I started to build up a second 1200 to use as a road-bike"
